my 87 shelby z runs great, but every once in a while while driving it cuts completely out,the tach drops, and then it goes on just fine.It may do it again in a couple minutes, then maybe not for a couple days.there are no codes or any other problems. Its like the voltage is cut from the motor for a split second.Could the hall effect in the distributor cause this?thanks

Sounds like a classic HEP problem.
With the engine running wiggle/pull the wiring at the distributor and HEP connectors in an attempt to duplicate the problem.

Yeah, I had the same problem on my GTC. It was worse then I hot bumps. It was one to the two connectors going to the HEP on the distributor.

I am looking for gray interior trim for a J-body (1987-1989) LeBaron coupe hardtop. If you have anything please PM me before throwing it out. I am also selling tan trim if you're interested.
