I have a little leak in my turbo coolant supply line. It just leaks out of the rubber hose. It looks like and old swollen mess. Is it alright to just cut the old rubber hose off and replace it? I know it has crimped clamps on there, but I was just planning on replacing them with hose clamps. I was hoping I could get away with it instead of buying a new line.

Thanks guys!!

yah, no problem, I have replaced mine quite a few times. Just find the proper size hose and get enough to work, and you will be fine.

I believe Half inch heater hose fits it real nice if your talking about the one that runs next to the oil line

isnt the supply the one from the back of the block ?

anyhoo for the coolant line going (coming?) to the "thermostat box" I drilled out the hole a bit, tapped for pipe thread and got a brass nipple, totally eliminating that first steel line and its troublesome flare fitting

and that's what I want to do on the "other" coolant line as well

That's a good idea... so your going to run just 1/2 hose then? I worry about things like that. I think "It came with steel line for a reason I would imagine", but then it is only a coolant line... let me know how that works out.

oops you want to keep this close to stock ; I prolly got a good OE coolant hose that still has the crimps.. cheap :)

I was running that mod for 2 yrs no problem ; WAY easier to hook up that line when swappiing heads around (like I seem to be often doing)
