hEY GUYS I HAVE THE 91 DODGE DAYTONA 2.5 MITS. TURBO 1 STOCK
and well heres the story i went ahead and change the oil pump and pick up tube already but when i run the car at idle and just let it warm up to half way on the guage then i experience this problem
my oil pressure guage drops at idle and i have to rev it about 2000rpms for it to come back then if you drive it it seems to get worse where you have to rev to 2500 or 3000 rpms
and well i figure guage maybe bad so i let it idle and it started to hesitate and die ...well i check my oil on the dip stick and it shows full "BUT" heres the catch i took my valve cover cap over and on the cam shaft i saw it was dry in the center and if you kept running it it kepted getting dry from middle to outside on the loops of the camshaft?

tell me does anybody have a clue on what might this be??

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical guage. That is #!!!! The stock guage is dumb.

Sounds like insufficient oil getting to the head. That can be caused by numerous things. Why the oil pump change?

Do not trust the gauge, connect a mechanical oil pressure gauge and check oil pressure.

yeah ill try a mechanical gauge later today...but even if i try that why would oil not reach to the camshaft only when the car is warmed up?

Does the cam get the oil it needs when engine RPMs are increased or is this only happening at idle?

Why the oil pump change?

Here is the lubricating system for a 2.2/2.5L.
Any signs of sludge buildup that may be restricting the oil flow?
