I have an '85 GLH Carb'd. Its carb has a broken choke, as a result, the guy i purchased it from installed a "high idle switch". I'm looking to make this a little less trashy and just replace the carb. HOWEVER, I can't seem to locate a carb anywhere! Does anyone know of a place or have a used but working one for sale?

Please do yourself a huge favor and get a weber carb. Dfev's are a direct replacemet replacement for holley you have on there now. Dgv series carbs will also work fine, however they are a mirror image so the throttle cable mount will have to be modified. You should be able to come up with plenty of information by searching through old posts. Rebuilding the holley's and buying rebuilt ones is a rather large waste of time and money. If you want to fix it cheap (true "turbododge" style) you can always put a hand choke in it.

Depends where you get them. You can get decent dgv series carbs off e-bay in the $40-$80 range, toss in a rebuild kit(and throttle shaft bushings-very cheap) and you are good to go. Dfv series go for a good bit more since they pop up a lot less frequently than dgv's. The last one I got was from allstate carburetor in NY. Even though they are not listed on their website, they do rebuild and sell dfev's. When I added up what they were going for on e-bay, the rebuild kit and all the shipping, it was cheaper just to get one with all new parts from them. They do really nice work. If you do get a weber, do not throw away your old carb, you will need it for the linkage. I have 2 dgev's and one dfev, and even though you have to modify the linkage, I like the dgev's better, for some reason they just seemed easier.
