85 dodge 600 turbo is running rich and slow feels like limp mode

i have a 85 dodge 600 turbo. i had a code 54 so I changed the distributor pick up and the code and light went away. it ran a lot better with the bad one. now it has a lot less power and feels like it is in limp mode. it is getting kind of annoying to drive like this, i will put the old dist. pick up on if i have to but i would rather fix the problem. i also have put a new rotor. how do i set the timing on this car and what is it supposed to be set at?

to set timing, unplug coolant temp sensor and set to 12 deg BTDC

i would check the O2 sensor ...

also checking for vac leaks would not be a bad idea.

timing was off... it runs better than ever now! no more getting passed by weak cars
