Today I hop in the Van to head to my parents and I notice the speedo isn't working. So I stopped turned it off and turned it back on (hoping this would work but assuming it wouldn't). And of coarse it didn't, but when I did turn it off the tach sat at 1k rpms without the motor running. Any ideas here? Speedo cable? Do the tach and speed oshare a cable?

The only thing the speedometer and tach have in common is the circuit board on the cluster even though they are seperate circuits.
Start with the common problem, reflow the solder joints on the circuit board.
You may have lost a connection on the board.
I see you are in MN, let the board warm to room temp before resoldering.
