Guys, I installed a used Stage II MP Computer today and the car runs WONDERFULLY!! BUT, Before my gauge shows any signs of Boost Pressure, I am gatting detination issues. After I play with the peddle a little, gat past that problem the car flies (12 psi of Boost). At WOT I hear 'spark knock'. What can I do?

When you switch computers it screws with your ignition timing.
Reset it.
If this doesnt help then check the cam timing.
What octane fuel are you running?
Pull a plug if it has little pepper specks then your ignition timing is retarded too far.

Salt and pepper specks indicate to much ADVANCE... re-check your base. Are you using a zener??? What one 4.3 or 4.7?? Stage II s/b 4.7. This would cause it.

Guys,
I am running Champions #9's. Timing I never thought about. I will have to check that. I am running 93 octane (Sunoco).

I have NO zener Diode in the car, should I? What I did was, I removed my MAP Sensor from the stock LM, installed it on the Stage II and Installed the stage II in the car. And yes, I did disconnect the neg. battery terminal when I did all this. All vacuum lines are good.

Another problem I forgot to memtion is.....the Idealing is about 1800 rpm, I backed of the srew on the TB, but it is still high. Is there something that I should grind off the TB so that I can adjust it farther?

WHAT DO I DO NOW?? I will check the timing tomorrow.

Thank you guys!!!

Swap back to the stock box and see if the idle issue goes away. You have to fix the BASE problem before tackling others.

Adjusting the idle screw should NEVER be needed...

Sounds like a vac hose of, any codes??

Ken,
Everything was fine before I installed the Stg. II, this all started when I installed the stg. II

All Vac. lines are great. This is the second Stg. II box that I installed, same problem with the first. I thought it was the Stg. II box, so I bought another one.

You DID run the extra 2 wires for the AIS correct??? SC ais does not require them... The GLHS boxes do.

This box is just an upgrade for a TI SC. Not for a GLHS. I still have the TI motor in the car. The LM I have in the car is a Mopar Performance Logic Module for a TI setup. I didn't think I needed to change any wires for that.

You shouldn't, what year MP TI module is it?? Is it the 85 or 86, they are different. To run an 86, you need the 86 and up distributer and HEP. The 85 Distr/hep are NOT compatible with 85 boxes.
