i have some cams i found in the garage but not sure on how to tell if there roller cams or not. how do i tell?

the wear marks on the lobes are a pretty good clue. Sliders will have a wider shiny wear pattern becuase of the wider pad on the rockers, rollers narrower. Also rollers wont be "cupped" across the highest point on the lobe, unless sand was circulating through the oil :big grin:

a roller cam has skinnier lobes than a slider cam too.
