I have already posted this in the general section but this is a better spot. I really do hate tracing electrical problems. My car and i have been separated to long do to the accident and now that i have it back i still can not drive it do to no brake lights. I have traced power in and out of the pedal switch and then i found that the power goes to the turn signal switch after that. If i am reading the schematics right then the only thing it could be is the turn signal switch. All other lights work and i have never had this problem before.

Is this car eqipped with cruise control?
I need to see if I can find a circuit diagram for the stoplamp circuit on Monday from Mitchell, Alldata is not showing it.

You are the second person that has asked about the cruise control. No it doesnt have one but it would great if it did. Anyways i wouldnt think that the cruise would have anything to do with the brake lights. Shows you how much i know about this. I figured it out today though. The flasher switch was not on or off. It was kinda messed up and i turned it off and back on a couple of times and my brake lights are working again. Heck yeah i am driving this thing all over now. Thanks

Now i hope they stay working

Glad to hear it is fixed.
The car has been sitting so oxidation on a switch terminal is not uncommon.
The brake lamp switch is tied into the cruise system so the cruise will be disengaged when the brake pedal is depressed.
The cruise equipped vehicles use a dual switch, one side for the cruise and the other for the brake lamps.
