can i use foamy engine bright and water to clean everything, or will that mess up the inside of the head somehow?

Should I even bother to take the manifolds off the head? everything looks look except the turbo, which I've already removed.

Thanks

I have used it on my heads, manifold intake, and rods i noticed if you use just brake cleaner and water metal surfaces can catch some rust, when i used gunk brush and water it came out clean, and it doesn't show any surface rust.

Hey , chill out !!!
The foamy bright will not hurt anything within the internal head or
Intake/exhaust manifold, the only item you could reall possibly harm are the valve oil seals if a cleaner such as varsol is used ,
Go ahead and use the foamy cleaner and use hot water if you can to clean off ,
A pressure washer would be your best result to get the grease and grime off..
Best to blow off the head with compressed air after cleaning to get dry quickly , then apply oil over all the vale train to prevent rusting of the cast/metal parts......
In regards to your other question , ie: remove the int. & exh. manifold ?
Why not , you are allready there , might as well change those gaskets and have a good look at the valves as this will let you view the valve stems for a visual inspection,
In addition you will be able to do a better job of cleaning the head and the int/eexh. manifold, its all quite simple ,
Still the best cleaning is hot tank cleaning , which would require the complete disassembly of everything , sure would come out nice !
Best of luck !!!!!
