Engine revs, but car won't move in any gear. I roll down the street a little to save some embarrasement, and my buddies and i walk home, and come back in another car. I'm hoping maybe its just an axle or something, so I get in to start it up, and him goin have my buddy look under the car. But now everything all good, and it doesn't feel like anythings wrong. So, I start drivin it, and does it again. Nothing, also some small grinding noise, when i release the clutch. I **** around with it for another 30 seconds(shut it off, start it up, clutch in and out). and now it works again. drive it a mile home. I finally get a little time to look at it, and i ain't found nothin wrong with it yet. I drove it a around the block a couple times, evn did a small dry hop, jacked one tire up and let it spin. I found one cv joint with a broke boot(pass tire), but i don't know how long its been like that.
those passenger side cv joints have a little slack in them. whats wrong?
You think it would either be broke or not.
Trans/differential?
clutch?
cv joint?

if the axle broke you would know.... believe me lol ive broken 4 in the past two months. when you break em you dont move and all the sudden you look down and your speedo says your doing 60 or so and all you hear is an axle beating the crap outta your suspension componets! and your car wont even roll when it gets hung up on the control arm but pull the axle and see if you tore up the splines in the intermediate shaft side like mwadams said. good luck
*edit* save yourself some time try this out http://www.boostbarn.com/tech.html saves alot of time and makes it easy, and no breaking those weak sway bar bolts when trying to get them off! and when your unbolting the ball joint "clamp" jack the control arm down some to take the pressure off your bolt so you dont end up stripping the threads off it like me and having to buy a new ball joint
