I'm thinking about going to a copper headgasket, i ran my car up to 244 F degress, by not having enough water in the radiator, and headgasket finally went, water temp guage will jump around too much, and while idling it puffs white smoke, and ofcourse it uses water, i think those are good indicators of blown h/g, i have been thinking about copper headgasket price will me between $180 and $210, if you were in my place would you buy it or go with stock gasket which wasn't ment for boost?
here's the site of place that i'm thinking to get it from:

Why not just use a MP headgasket and have the head/deck shaved to get it back to unwarped condition, then use a decksaver and MP gasket? I guess i don't see where having a headgasket milled entirely out of copper is going to do anything for you.
Are you talking about using it as a shim to relower the compression after the deck/head is shaved? If that's all you want to do then you need to be looking for a decksaver available in any parts catalog. They run about $20 to $30 if my memory serves me correctly, i'm using one in conjunction with the MP headgasket currently with no ill effects after my car was run without coolant too.

Good Luck,

Sorry i forgot to mention it's for a 3.3L v6, heads were just shaved a litlle bit to straighten them out 1600 miles ago, i think they are ok, i'm just afraid if i use mopar headgasket i will blow it soon again since it wasn't designed for boost, that's why i want to go with copper headgasket, their website talks only best about them, i ran it hot too many times because of stupid overflow that i hacked up.
Any opinions are welcome.

My apologies for the smartass post. I wouldn't hesitate to try them. As long as the block/heads are true. I've heard good things about them, but they weren't in a forced induction engine.

Ahhh, that clears it up considerably. I thought you were talking about a 2.2L or a 2.5L. As far as that's concerned i would definantly try to find someone else who's running boost through their V6 and find out what they're doing. Look into maybe the Turbo Buick world and find out. I understand that a turbo buick HG isn't going to fit on yours, but those guys get into some pretty serious add-ons on their cars at times and i'm sure you can find somebody on there that has at least tried them before you invest your money in them.

The only thing i can think of, and i know this is alot of work if it doesn't work, is maybe you were losing headgaskets ONLY due to in running to hot, and maybe under normal operation that it won't be doing that, but if i'm wrong that means you have another rebuild to look forward to after they blow again .

I'll look around on the i-net later this week if i get some time and see if i can find anything out for you,

Thanks, first time they lasted about 9 months until i leaned it out and cracked ringlands along with 4 blown headgasket holes out of 6, i'm thinking that i did destroy new hg after running my car with cap loose one time, and numerous times only half radiator, because of stupid overflow.
Should i go with mopar again, or try fel-pro, what are other good gasket manufacturers out there?
