weird Idle

ok so i put the omni away for winter and got a winter car (88 t1 shadow) it has a idle problem it will idle at 2 or 3 then go down real quick like its going to stall but then jumpes back up to around 2 sometimes it idles at 1 but still goes down to almost 0 like its goin to stall so i took it for a drive and its stil doing the same thing when its driveing i have no idea whats going on can any1 help me

could be your timing, or
it might be the map sensor.
possibly a vacuume leak.



i had almost the same problem, my car would want to stall in wet weather, i changed the map, then it ran fine.

recently working on my car had a similar problem, which was vacuum related. the way I found it - pinched the vacuum hose coming off the intake manifold. if that does the trick, it's vacuum. follow all the hoses back from that point checking for cracks, loose/disconnected, or in my case incorrectly connected hoses.
