i am having problems with the tach on my 85 Omni it seems it will only work after the engine has been running for about an hour or more. then if i turn the car off after i notice it's working and go to start it back up the tach doesn't move. has anybody else had this problem? if so please let me know. i like to have the tach when i am "Cooking Rice"

That's a pretty common problem with the L-bodies. What you need to do to fix it is pull out the guage cluster and look on the back of it. Behind the tachometer is a circuit board that plugs in. It has like 8 or 10 pins all in a row that connect to the tach. The solder around these pins will crack and fatigue with age. Just take a soldering iron and heat up the solder around these pins and maybe add a little bit and it'll work like new.

If I remember correctly the tach wire is grey with blue stripe, somebody correct me this was over two years ago I had the dash apart
