hey guys,

i just figured out that my ais is bad. i would start my car up the idle would go real high. so then i loosend the ais rotated it and the idle went down. but when i would shut my car off and start it back up again, the idle would be real high again.

so what i want to do is, totally disable my ais. can i just unlpug the ais and use the set screw on the front of the tb to control my idle?

You'll need to adjust it back down to a proper level again, but you already got that down.

Unplug the AIS/TPS connector - inside there are two wires going to the AIS, and three to the TPS I believe. These tabs are held into the connector by plastic clips... on one of the two AIS wires (or both, does not matter) push the plastic clip away and pull the wire out, tape it up with electrical tape and the computer can no longer control it. So when you adjust your idle by turning the motor, the computer can't screw with it - so your in buisness.

i think i would be better off by just eliminating the ais. its just one more thing to fix when it breaks. and if i disable it, i wont have to worry about it going bad again.
