diesel brad is keeping the peace
new to the forum had my tranny rebuit 6000 miles ago so gears are fresh. it started surging thru gear and all the gears. but if i pull over and turn it off then start it usually will go away and run fine. some time it will do it and i have to restart 3 or 4 times. Doesnt throw any codes

We have A 07 dodge one ton and acted ridiculous so we order new sensors for the tranny and it worked fine!

IIRC, There were some Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) out for the mid-late 90's cummins and their respective drivetrains. Might want to call the dealer and see what they say. If it's a TSB, usually it has to be fixed/repaired free of charge, being a manufacturing fault/flaw

TSB's are only free of charge if the vehicle is still under warranty.
Only Recalls are performed no charge for the life of the vehicle.
