Orifice / Restrictor Database

Moderators please move this if in wrong section, maybe make a sticky....

So I figured this question comes up often enough to justify making a reference so that it will come up on a search of the topic.

Had a few of these sitting around, and just recently picked up a micro drill set so I have the small sizes to measure the holes. Everyone else please feel free to add, pictures would be helpful since these things show up in a variety of places and applications.

Red orifice off the compressor nipple on a Mitsubishi turbo to the wastegate actuator...

Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

Great idea. FWIW, I run a 0.04" restrictor in the WG line on my Daytona race car with open exhaust (literally open - it's a 2-1/2" DP about 6" long with a 22" long tappered megaphone on it) and I don't get boost creep. But, the boost control would NOT work with the stock restrictor...

Add more info on why there needed and pictures of the auto parts unit that we can still buy and lock it up. Should get the photos inserted too, stickys should always have TD photos. Onces from other sites leave over time then the sticky becomes more useless in other cases. A good choice though, this comes up a lot lol

Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

My photobucket account is public, so if you want to grab the pictures from there and then change the link in the original posting please do. As for locking it up, I'm hoping to keep it open so others can add to it, in fact I think I have a few more fitting to add myself, I just gotta' find where I stashed them in the house. And not just Turbo cars, N.A. cars have them too.

Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

Richard This is a great post! Could you take the time to relocate the pictures from your photo-bucket account and upload them to this web site. Please read Rob's posts (the pope). As a PR-Team member I edit a lot of tags. I find a wealth of information in posts, however when you look at it the pictures they took are no longer available! When that person quits the forum, or something else happens to them we loose their knowledge!

Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

Last time I tried to upload pictures here it wouldn't let me for some reason, I'll try again, but if it works someone will have to go into my original post and change the link.

Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

You have to reduce the size to 800 by 600. Your current pic size is 1,024px 768px. An Administrator could upload them for you if you don't have a method of reducing it.

Smile Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

Richard I would be willing to pull the light blue and yellow Orifices out of my turbo vacuum lines as well as the read 7/32 one one out of vapor canister system if you would be willing to measure them then send them back? Interested?

Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

I'm a horrible procrastinator, maybe we go with your plan, mail them and I'll mail them back. That I can get done easy, no hunting for them required.

Re: Orifice / Restrictor Database

Richard pm me your name and mailing address. I will mail them your way on Tuesday. If you don't mind I would like to send you the orifice that is in the 'Y' connector that is in the brake booster / water divert-er etc.

Rob, the three pic's I upload are on TD's web site. I run into the missing pics a lot when editing tags. Most of the time with the pic' missing the thread is useless.

Here are the ones used in my vacuum diagram from a T1 88 Lebaron Convertible. I marked the vacuum diagram on where each color goes.
