I am working on a 1988 New Yorker Turbo. I have 2 bad vacuum solenoids: baro read and egr/purge. This 88 has metal framed boxy solenoids like this:

It looks like they went to the newer style in 1990 like this:

I know they have different plugs. Does anyone know if they have similar enough resistance etc so the newer style can be used in place if the older with a plug swap on the harness?

I will check the resistance on mine and post as soon as I figure out where my dmm has hidden itself.

There's 2 sets of the solenoids for sale here: Engine: Shelby and Misc Items

They're new old stock or NOS $35 shipped.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like someone found your link today before me and spoke for a set. I posted and hope to get the last set.

The solenoids in the NY have a resistance of 30 ohms. Can someone check the newer plastic style and see what the resistance is?

I like the old one's better, the vac lines stay on them better as they have that little lip at the end. Didn't get the NOS ones?
