chrysler computer in other vechicle ?

Off the wall question . If a guys were to have say a rail buggy. And wanted to put a 2.2/2.5TD in it. Would there be any reason that you could not use a stock chrysler computer, and modified harness ???
A friend says the electrons will not work propper due to body resistances etc. I say that there is no reason it will not run just fine. It may not be durable, from bouncing and rough usage. But see no reason it would not work.

Maybe he thinks it's April 1st. It will work fine. Actually there's a local guy here that I bought a Shelby motor from, valve cover and 2 piece still on it, that he had in a sand rail adapted to a VW trans axle.

Yeah I could not see why it would not work also. This friend is sometimes overly book smart, with wire resistances, electrical theroy etc...just trys to make things harder that they really are.

yea, I know at least 3 people that have put the 2.2 into a sandrail, dunebuggy, VW car....

My question is...were they using stock chrysler computer systems? and not some standalone (Megasquirt type system).

yes, they used a stock harness but were not using a lot of it.... in terms of all items, just engine sensors, fuel harness...

normally a really built buggy has stock log turbo T1 power lol, big boost really isn't needed. Ground everything to the roll cage and don't be shy with the grounds.

I'd use a SMEC or SBEC, and run a stock T1 setup with maybe an intercooler. The older log with be fine but the later computers are a single box and they have the goo in them to deal with shock better. A custom cal would be nice, but you'll want the chip soldered on. The computer is grounded through the wiring, so build a soft base for the computer like rubber radiator bushings to screw it down.
