I have a shorter tire than stock on my Daytona. The speedometer is obviously off now. I know that some vehicles came stock with 205/50-15's, i.e. some 1990 Shadow VNT's and others. Is the speed sensor gear different on these short tire models? Is the speed sensor gear the determining factor in speedomter calibration between vehicles? I would like to get my speedo accurate when running a set of 205/50-15's. Thanks

There are three color gears for the speed sensor. Blue, yellow, white. Each is for any 80s/90s TD tranny speed sensor and which one you use depends on the diameter tire mounted on the car. I recently had my GLHS apart and it has the white gear, and 15" wheels which are standard. So the white gear is good for 15" wheels in any car.

All that being said, the profile of the tire will make the tire larger or smaller and it will impact the speed reported by the gear of course.

The GLHS comes stock with 205/50-15 tires, so if your info is correct, I am in need of a white speed sensor gear. Thanks!

the tooth count for the sensors, i believe are 19,20,21 for 13",14",15",16"

pretty sure 19 tooth gears are for the L bodies
