lgabrieljr is keeping the peace
hi all, new to this place, so happy to find it, I have 88 lebaron conver. w/ a 2.2 turbo....I purchase it from a garage that was going to do a timing belt job.....it was taken apart but thats it....we alligned the timing marks and it started....but it is popping out the intake. and doesnt seem to turn on like it should ...it seems to be skipping...... we thought maby we did something wrong so we re checked and put it back together.....same story....we did a compression test.....it was ok (130 or so) what am I doing wrong.....I need to fix this car........thanks for any help you may have

Did you set the ignition timing to 12 degree with coolant temperature sensor unplugged?

Backfire in the intake is caused by valve timing being incorrect or ignition taking place at the wrong time.
Verify Cam Timing is correct.
Verify Ignition Timing is correct
Verify the Ignition Firing Order is Correct.
