if so, i dont see how that will diagnose anything ><

if there was a hesitation or stumble before it shut off i could see the pressure drop or something, but with it being instant / like you turn the key off and then back on, i dont think ill get an accurate assesment of it. ill try it once i get a day off work once but im not to optimistic about it solving much cuz if there was fuel pressure issue, im sure id be thrown a code for fuel pressure or misfire of some sort.
Pressure should be maintained in the fuel rail, if pressure drops drastically during the 1-2 seconds the car shuts off there is a problem, however, normally a shutoff issue that you are describing is electrical in nature such as ignition, loss of crank signal, ASD circuit issue, etc.

that scanner you linked is the one i got.

it seems like its an ignition issue but i keep telling myself its not that cuz my problem only happens when i got a load on the motor and giving it a good amount of throttle.. if it was iginition, it would happen more then just then.. its fuel related im almost 100% positive cuz the car ran fine since the day i got it till i filled it all the way up (first time it was actually topped off since i got it) the other day.

A fuel pressure gauge will verify a fuel delivery problem and your scanner can capture and record datastream when the problem occurs so...

yeah the problem is, where my connecter is for the fuel rail, and the length of my guage line, isnt long enough to get to the windshield <_<

ill see if there is one i work i can steal during my lunch break and if not, i hope the scanner data logs fuel pressure...lol

ran my scanner on it, so heres some pics i took of it

this is where i hammered on it / split second before its face hit the floor
is the map out of range / throwing fuel shutdown / overboost protection signal like on the turbododges at this point?
thought regular maps only read to 19.97 or something and over that they cut fuel off

this is when it fell on its face.

heres an interesting one. this is leading up to another "falling on its face"

notice in the 5th pic where it says Not available / N/A for fuel system 2. this is immediately after if fell on its face.. whats this mean?

why did the map drop here from 17.1 in previous frame to 14.8 when going wot? isnt it suppose to keep going up with the rpms at wot?

is the map out of range again? notice that fuel system 2 is now "unavailable"

map and baro seem a bit eratic to me.

i think my map or fuel pump is taking a dump..

id replace the fuel filter cuz thats a common issue with these cars, but its only replaceable with the entire fuel pump assembly / all one unit.

and im hoping its the map cuz the pump is like 400$

interesting but sounds like a short at the pump too. The pump gets power off the ASD, if it shorts it could trip it shutting the car off. I would consider looking at the pump, based off when it started and how it started.

so i got the o2 voltage and throttle command percentage values recorded today. got a load of pics of it in order

also, i got the car to cut out while just reving it at idle.. so tomorrow after work imma have a friend help with it to see if i get a large fuel pressure drop when it cuts out.. cuz it should maintain rail pressure.

also, when starting it cold this morning before going to work (was like 15 degrees F out), it fired up then died, but then fired it a second time and it stayed running just fine.

also at work at lunch when i went to back out of my parking spot, it died as soon as i put it into drive after backing out.. fired it back up, ran perfectly fine, same with leaving work a short while ago.

picture time!

just starting to get on the throttle

this is where it cutout the first time on this run

second run

on the throttle

right before it cuts out

cuts out here

im hoping im making progress on this issue. so annoying i cant go WoT and have fun

it seems to me like its leaning it self out / causing the issue.

so at this points, its still either bad map or pump....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I just recently saw O2 readings like that but it was on a Ford F-150 and caused by a contaminated wire on the MAF causing the controller to think the vehicle was at 8000' above sea level so it was LEAN.
O2's only had to go to 0.00 one time and the CEL was immediately turned on and fault codes P0171 and P0174 were set.
Hard to believe your O2's went to 0.00 and did not set any fault codes...???

On your vehicle I am still leaning towards a fuel delivery issue.
Get that fuel pressure checked and do not forget to deadhead the pump to see max output.

You can look at Map output thru the entire voltage range using a handheld vacuum pump and your scanner or DVOM.
Your Baro readings are correct so no issues there.

What are short and long term fuel correction reading?
