Ok, well, as you can see, I am new to this site writing all the way from Michigan(Three Rivers), but I do have an important question...

I have a 1985 Shelby Charger that I cannot get started for the life of me. I bought the car for 150.00, and it won't start up. It has spark, it has fuel, all the goodies, but won't start. I checked compression and it was fine, I checked fuel pressure, it was between 51-55psi(Stock specs...Right on)...I don't know what to do... Any help???Computer was checked, ASD relay, etc...Everything has been checked. New timing belt, was running fine aftewr it was changed...Possibly not tight enough??? Jumped time??? Here is the story...

The previous owner was drag racing some guy out at Martin, when he was going, the engine just totally shut down...Stopped running completely...It will crank all day, it will spark all day, fuel will smell if I crank it long enough, but won't start...Help me out!!!

Thanks!
Chris...

p.s.- I cannot remember who I chatted with from on here at Martin, but thanks for the recommendations!

I would check the timing again. Pull the codes if you have not done that yet. check for a blown off vac line.
Is it turbo or NA?

It is the Turbo 2.2...I checked all the vacuum lines, but no leaks anywhere...Do you know where I can find a good cheat sheet w/timing markings online, firing order, etc??? Like a pdf file?

That would be awesome!

On the blow through intakes it should be printed on the TB. I believe it is 1-3-4-2, but dont quote me on it.

About all you will need to know will be found at

and

Hope this helps.

Yeah I always use gary's tip on how to set the timing. It is much easier for me to do it that way.

I went ahead and swapped the module today, and the same thing happened...Absolutely nothing...Um, Other than that, yeah, there has to be a spot in the harness where it isn't working out...I am about ready to just say first person with $250.00 takes it home...The only thing is that I would have to ship them the title, because I have to file for another one...But yeah, I guess if someone has $250.00 come and take it today...
