I started my car today and it was running kind of rough. I turned up my boost last night and set my 5th injector to come on at 10 PSI. I took it for a test run today to see where my boost was at. I buried the stock gage and was getting 12 on my phantom gage. Green(slightly rich) on my dawes device On my way home i noticed alot of white smoke in my mirror.

I turned off my car when i got home, did a visual inspection of my engine. Every thing looked normal. I tried to start the car again and it didnt want to start. I gave it a lil gas and she fired right up. I got a lot more white smoke and then started to thin out. The engine still sounded like it was running rough.

Any ideas of what may be wrong?
My first guess guess is the head gasket. Whats the best way to be sure?

Head gasket failure. I just changed one. Pull the plugs and look at them. The #1 plug was extremely clean while the others were dirty. #1 cylinder was were the gasket failed.

Is there any thing else i would need to pick up along with the head gasket?
I thought i read that the head bolts could only be used once on another thread.
Or maybe it was some other bolts.

disconnect battery, unbolt down-pipe, take off neccisary oil and coolant line from turbo, remove timing belt, remove valve cover, remove head bolts, remove collant sensor plug, remove intake set-up and vacuum lines, remove fuel lines and grounds, remove TPS and throttle cable..

that should be all.....(I do way to many head swaps and HG changes)..might be a little bit more...

or if you wanna do it the half ass way, take off timing belt, valve cover, and head bolts, intake to TB, and lift it head and all the other stuff as 1 and pull the old HG out (inspect), and then slide another one in there, and hook everything back up.

Another body to help lift off the head is a back saver.
