well i did the vac lines and she runs a lot better. the engine mounts were replaced and now she shakes a lot at idle. it never did this before the engine mounts were replaced. i also noticed that under the engine there is a space for what looks like a tranny mount braket. is it needed and will this stop the shaking at idle cause when she runs on the road she is fine and smooth. also i dont here the turbo wind up that much anymore but not much of a power loss. please help me all. thanks again.

Is it possible you mean the tranny bobble strut? It's a little strut that goes from the back of the transmission to the k-frame? Or do you mean the front/middle engine/tranny mount?

When you replaced your engine mounts, did you center the driveshafts on the tranny?

the only struts i saw were on the engine mount on the side of the frame on fender well neer the map sensore. under the bottom of the frame directly behind the tranny is a spot where there is supposed to be what i think a tranny mount. or is that where the strut you mentioned is supposed to go. like i said guys, im lost with this car.

Maybe you should explore these links among many others:

http://polybushings.com/pages/moparbobble.html
and
at Gary Donovan's Huge "encyclopedia":
http://www.thedodgegarage.com/
especially the "transaxle guide" on left side menu

Year, model and auto or standard would be a start,

Which mounts, all of them or ?

What brand did you use? did you put the spacers back in on the passenger side mount?

i did put in the original mounts for the engine. thats why i cant figure out whats wrong and why it shakes in idle only. it is a 3 speed auto and the premium convertible. is there supposed to be a dog bone under the rear and also is there supposed to be a strut on the passenger sd fender mount. i checked at the dealer today and they said it is not avallable anymore. what should i do?

Check item #16 here right now for the 525 dog-bone / bobble strut
Bunch-O-Parts for sale: t2, L-body, 2-piece, shelby z, etc

also check the Donovan site I already gave you! He shows how the mounts can be installed incorrectly to cause vibration.
(You have to read a bit if you want to learn)

Don't worry about the passenger side strut right now. Work on one problem at a time.

Best - Andy

Auto's don't have bobble struts, unless I am missing something?????? Never seen a factory auto bobble strut.

You have a PM.
