310.8 whp @ 4897 rpm
358.6 ft/lbs @ 4277 rpm

All my specs can be seen here
vic.vaitkus - 1989 Shelby Daytona

Also click on the link at the top to watch the video.

The brown line is boost pressure (~24 psi) and the black one is A/F. Unfortunately no scales for those two.

I just dynoed my '88 Shelby Z today. It was raining most of the day, but it was fun. The WBO2 didn't work because it was broken(one of the reasons I wanted to dyno...but oh well).
I put down the most torque of the day, including a Miata that had an LS1 swap with a ZO6 tune!!!
Mods are:
-255lph hi-press pump
-+40's
-AFPR(set at 40# static)
-NGK BPR5ES plugs set at .027"
-the HEI converted cap/rotor w/MSD wires
-modded stock air box w/drop in K&N
-FMIC(2.5" piping)
-1st gen DSM BOV
-MBC set at 20#'s
-3" exhaust w/cat & Borla XR-1 muffler
-FWD stage 5 cal
-3-bar MAP
-Devil's Own progressive kit (3gpm nozzle, 60/40 water/meth, comes on at 10#'s...full at 18#'s
-crank scraper
-oil cooler

Stock items:
-shortblock
-head
-cam
-turbo
-exhaust/intake manifolds
-'88 2.25" swingvalve
-'88 small WG can
-coil
-timing(12*)
-clutch(although it is getting tired)
-flywheel
-tranny(A555)

The first two runs were done in 4th gear, the last in 3rd(just to see what would happen). The Dawes said the car was RICH the whole time...I think it has a little more in it, but I'm not sure if I want to push it...it works well and is safe right now. This is more important to me than the ultimate number. This car has run a best of 14.5@100mph with a 2.3 60'.

I bet that thing runs like a mad man!
It looks like it spools well with the Stage 3.

I can't hold 33 psi on the street. 4th gear @ 60mph I step on it and hit 33 psi and the tires blow themselves away like your on ice. I'm full spool by 3800rpm.

Nice! Is your 50 trim in a punched out smaller housing, or is it in the proper T04e housing?

The 50 trim is in the T04E housing. The stall is sucking up some horsepower, but the torque feels great! Good enough to run 11.50s. I'll be installing the F4 cam next week and see how well it works with lower boost.
If I look at the non-smoothed sheet from the dyno it shows 352 HP and 436 FT. I didn't think the smoothing would cut it down so much.

Cool, let us know how the cam works out. Reason I asked about the housing is because it's on my list of "bad ideas" that have come up through the years. Like staging a .48 A/R turbine housing....complete waste of time and money.

I'll definately let you guys know after I am done tuning for the cam next week.

I did in fact have a machined stock compressor housing on this same turbo 2 years ago which had issues. The carbon seal leaked horrible since I first installed it and I had spooling problems (20 psi by around 5300 RPM 63 housing). T04E housing with dynamic seal and good machine work on the cartridge made it a COMPLETELY different turbo with alot more power to spare even with the 90^ elbow welded on.

As far as the .48 housing, it is very useful on an engine with breathing problems such as a bad head. With the same screwy turbo mentioned above running a terrible flowing head, I ran 1 full second faster at the track when I went back to the .48 housing (turbo has a stage 2 wheel).

Heres one from the Omni on low boost (20 psi). Unfortunately the dyno kept beaking up around 6500 rpm so we never got to see what it was doing at 8500. Im sure judging by the incline of the h.p. curve there was still a good bit in there.

Some nice #'s there Wallace, but what's with the torque curve, seems kind of wonky, or was that the dyno screwing up at 6500?

The dyno kept cutting off. The ignition lead would stop reading. We moved it all over the place, it just would stop reading right around 6500.

Very impressed with what little you have done. In your list of stock parts, are any of them modified? Do you have plans to upgrade SV? I am very curious to see how much a larger unit nets you. 100mph trap in a daytona with just over 200whp is very impressive ! I bet with an upgraded SV, ported Exhaust mani, and gasket matched head, you will net some hefty returns!
