87DANCEonYOU is keeping the peace
I want to convert my 6054 sealed beam headlights to the h4 bulbs... i see some people just got the h4 housings and bulbs and thats it.. but i see that they sell an actual conversion kit on ebay with ballasts and stuff...do you know what the ebay kit takes to install and is that high and low beams?? I want something like the new bmw's and mercedes....

Those are HID's. True H4 are just the housing and bulbs. Also known as E-Code lights. As they are Europeon spec. Try www.rallylights.com. They have what you need.

not all H 4 are E code... many are just DOT (like mine). But given the chance to do it again, I'd go with a set of E code hellas or bosch, I've been growing to hate the ones I've got...

Phreakish is keeping our cars running
I'm using stock replacement H4's... 55/60 I believe... Not sure what the wiring/relay is rated to, but I'm pulling 15A through a spare headlight relay into a set of driving lights in the fascia

If you install new relays behind each headlamp and use the stock wiring to ground/trigger the relays and add a couple of new wires, you could easily power the brightest of lights w/o trouble (except of course for the poor oncoming drivers...)
