here is the problem, i just built an 83 plymouth scamp. i am running a 2.2 t2 with a few mods. i had to use the radiator from the scamp due to the size and fitment with the frt. mount intercooler. on to the problem, the temp rises at highway speeds to about 200 deg. i am running about 3200 rpm at 65 mph. if i sit at a light it stays about the same, 195-205 deg. if i am just cruising at about 40-45 mph, no boosting, it will run about 180-185 deg. i checked the radiator over quite well and everything else is new. i will probably invest in a new bigger radiator in the future but right now i want to drop the temp a little, about 15-20 deg., has anyone used any products to help bring temps down a little? i used water wetter in a big block car and it worked great but you have to use just water, no coolant. i need something that works with coolant in the system. i want to drive her tommarrow and it will be quite warm here so i need to know if anyone has tryed something with good results. also, where can i get a better radiator with more cooling capacity but close to the same size and fitment? thanks as always!

I have heard to use a few drops of dish detergent in the coolant, its supposed to help break surface tension.

thanks wallace, my wife went by AED race shop and talked to dwayne and picked up something called radiator release? he told her it should drop temps about 30-40 deg. i don't know that i want to drop temps that much but hopefully it will drop it at least 20 deg. he told her a lot of racers use it in really modified drag cars and circle track cars and have shown great results with temp drops. if it works that well i should not have to buy another radiator. i will let yall know what it does. the dish detergent is worth a try next time if i don't have good results with the rad. release.

Is this the car you were having problems with the wiring? What was the fix? How does it run now besides a little hot?
