Anybody know of a heavier duty version of the coolant return line from the turbo? I put a new one on from forward motion not too long ago, and it's crumbling!
It's the type that is the flexible orange hose material that fits over the metal tube going back into the block nad is held on with a clamp.

Even when new this didnt seem good, the hose fit over the barbed end of the tube but then after that barb it was just too big and had to scrunch it down with the clamp. It held for awhile but with that much heat right there it didnt last

Thanks for any replies
Matt

Try Cindy at FWD performance. She has a nice set of braided stainless oil and coolant lines. I blew one running off from a Mustang GT a week ago Monday and ordered a set.

Hi well allyou need is a proper sized silicone hose. I beleive is 1/2". And just so you know that is the FEED for the turbo, the one that goes to the T stat housing is the return.

Go to any parts store and go thru the coolant hose cataloque. There should be pics of hoses and universal hoses. I believe its 3/8 and you just need a 90 deg hose, so I looked thru and sure enough, Goodyear had a nice long 90 deg coolant hose and I just cut to fit,

Had no idea that was the feed,, it points down and is a good diameter so i just assumed it was the drain side, thanks for the tip.

I'll just try the parts store hoses first. Only concern is that this hose is on a kind of housing that bolts onto the turbo,, so hopefully i can seperate them without any damage,,

Maybe I;m describing the wrong piece, but a hose with a 90 bend in it will not fit here,,,

My cars' an 85 SC, got a 2.2L turbo 1 in it

thanks for the replies

Well, its a soft 90 deg. You simply grind off the crimped fittings with a grinder and slide the rubber hose off.
