No you'll need a 3.0's trans. Either the 3sp auto, 4sp auto and the 5sp manual can be made to work as long as they were originally from a 3.0, and only a 3.0!

Daytona .. Thank you very much for that advice, the car that have the 3.0 engine that i was talking have a 4 spd, but i don't like that transmision. i will have to search for a 2.5 mpfi.

RPMurph... because the 3.0 engine is fuel injected and the spirit which i'm talking about is my spare car, but with the carburator it have a very poor mileage numbers . But i have a stratus r/t 97 (2.4 turbo) that is in moding process , and if it was possible to the swap i was going to drop a megasquirt and a holset turbo on that 3.0

Allmotor. i will take some pictures today. i'm from Mexico that's why we have a 2.5 carburated engine my spirit also is a 1990, also shadows of that year are carburated, the fuel inyected 2.5 came on 1991 in both flavors 2.5 turbo and 2.5 MPFI.

thank you guys.

From everything Ive read it looks like chrysler has/had better plants in mexico, and they test some new stuff there. Hence the 97 2.4 turbo stratus, amoung other things I have read. Like less core shift on blocks and heads. etc..

But at the same time they still used carburated engines in 1990, when up here I think the stopped in 87? Anyway I find it interesting to see the differences in different countries.
