So i have the weekend off and its raining so i think im going to try and remove the block from my shadow. I have every thing removed from the block all thats left is the mounts and trans. right now the car is jaked up about a foot and a half. I might have an engine lift but i wont know till tomorrow. so if i dont have a lift ill try dropping the block. if i have a lift then ill pull out the top. any tips or warnings before i attempt this? this will be my first engine pull. Ive read the forums so i think im ready.

also im putting in a spare motor so i can drive the car while i rebuild my other motor with forged internals and such. but i noticed the motor im putting in has the roller cam and my old moder doesnt. when i get to the cam on my rebuild what are people running for cams. im shooting for the 300whp range.

if you try to take the motor out of the top, take the transmission out with it. It is easier than trying to separate the two while they are both still in the engine bay. Also, if taking the motor out of the top, try to get a load leveler if with the lift. This will allow you to cock the motor and transmission assembly at a slight angle wich will make it easier to get the transmission off its mount.
