I'd bet the majority of TD'ers have never seen one of them. Hell, I've only seen a few myself. In another arena I was called a flat out liar about this dampener setup, and that it did not exist.

Beachbum3478's original post talked about it being on the "engine mount near the map sensor side". That makes me think he was talking about this particular mount. The best I can make out of it is that it was meant for vibration control rather than motion control like the bobble strut. You'll find vibration dampeners on engine mounts like that on alot of Mercedes, Porsches, etc... I did a motor swap on an early '80's Mercedes TD that had small ones that someone had destroyed. The replacements would have cost almost $900. The owner opted to live without them.

yea that was what i was talking about. thanks. one more question though, instead of me buying new motor mounts can i just take out the old ones and fill them with the windsheid polyurthene stuff and make them alittle stiffer. because i was looking at one, and it seems to have a bunch of triangle holes and such going through them. so i guess thats what i would fill?
