im having a prob with my 86 glh.i just got the motor back together and it wont start.it has good spark and plenty of fuel.i think the timing is off but i need some opinions.also wat should that car with a mp computer inatke and exhaust run at the track? thanx guys

im guessin yor distribtor is in 180* off. elevation depending 14-15

^ very common, also my guess assuming you have compression and fuel.

when you start an engine you need fuel, compression, and spark and the thing that's always forgotten is the timing of the three.

i thought maybe it is 180 out too but i have moved it around a few times so i know its not in the same spot.i jus cant figure it out ???

I struggled with that too- I had 2 marks on the Flywheel for TDc, of course I picked the wrong one intially!!

pretty easy, just double check the flywheel mark. Mine had 2 and I was off 45 degrees or so - it tryed to start but not quite. Good luck, let us know when it runs and what was the matter.

ok thanx.i hope to get it running by this weekend so maybe i can make it to the track.i was kinda dissapointed last weekend when i couldnt figure it out.
