Well, I was going to be selling my 1984 Daytona Turbo-Z because I never had time to work on it where it was, but my dad and I are moving into a house next month with a 2 car garage, so we are getting it towed there to work on it on our own time without having to push it in and out of the shop.

Now, we plan on rebuilding the motor, (more or less taking it apart, cleaning in it and replacing parts that need replacing or just upgrading them). I was wondering if it is even worth doing this to the 2.0L Turbo or would I be better off trying to get my hands on an SRT-4 engine..?

Will that motor work and fit in the car and would I be better off with or without it. I want this car to get into the 11-13sec. margain.

Let me know what you think and any information would be awesome!

Thanks in advance,

Mike Brennan

2.0? I'm taking it your doing a complete engine swap or was this a typo? I don't know anything about the 95+ dodge engines so can't say anything about them. Just out of my curiousity why aren't you using a 2.2 or 2.5?

Yes it is woth doing your engine ,it will be quicker & cheaper to get a 13sec car out of the engine you have than retro fitting a srt-4 engine computer etc. Its ironic I just read this a few minutes after watching this vid of a 10 sec. GLHS racing an SRT-4. Im sure many have already watched it......Video - SRT-4 v/s Omni

Ok, I wasn't leaning more towards the srt-4 engine, I just thought of it and wondered if it would be worth it. I know once I rebuild the motor I have and replace/upgrade alot of the parts this car can be quick.

Thanks for the input!
