I am trying to separate my 3.0's upper plenum, how do I go about getting it apart? I took the 6 screws out, and it will not come apart. Anyone care to share on how to get it separated? Thanks.

Also, when putting back together, what should I use between the two surfaces?

are you talking about seperating the upper and lower plenum, or just removing the plenum from the lower intake manifold? There are like 8 screws that hold on the plenum to the intake, then remove all vacuum hoses and lift it off there.

From there once you remove the throttle body and the screws from the upper and lower plenum you just pry it apart, i used a rubber mallet and just tapped off the lower part of the plenum.

To install just clean the surface, i used some blue silicone RTV from the parts store, apply a thin line all the way around the seem and put together. pulled mine apart and cleaned it around 2 years ago, no vacuum leaks.

Yeah, I am talking about the upper plenum that splits into two pieces, I want to get into it to do some polishing, it's held together by the 6 screws on the underside of it. I'm not really sure on how to separate it. It's already off the car.
