how are you guys going to fit a large displacement v8 FWD between the framerails???....i guess ford has a transmission where it locates the gearbox behind the engine rather then beside so that saves space.........

well the olds or poncho is a small block, so think of it like your 6 but with an extra cylinder on each bank.

I don't have any intention to...lol. Was just mentioning the huge displacement of the front wheel caddy.

The GM FWD trans wraps around the motor (for lack of a better description) like the Ford one, in fact here is a pic of a 4T60E(the pic is kinda small, but you get the idea):

That's how Volvo put an Inline Twin Turbo 6Cyl Transversely in a FWD car(S80 T6), they used a 4T60E GM Trans. hehe

The extra front weight bias would be good for drag racing at least

The TH425 transaxle setup is huge, it would hardly fit in the back of an omni, for sure not in the front. The main problem with most of the transverse V8 engines is they kinda suck, and or they are too heavy. If you cant find a 2.5 turbo, do you really think a northstar will be cheaper?
