Well i knew it didn't mean mexican. I'm just not entirely sure how to do a conversion like that. If i do that, i might as well swap computers and put a turbo on.

well, for one you don't have the compression for a proper N/A setup, could be a factor..

And pistons, a hole in the block or pan, redo the emissions...

Buy a donor car if you really want to do the swap. you'll need a few more parts other then the engine

Neon heads flow (as I've been told) 45% more air. That's a more or less 45% increase in power, so you'd be at around 145HP, which is basically a TI but with no turbo lag. Of course anyone's going to think that N/A DOHC is a dog when they come from a turbo DOHC. But coming from N/A SOHC to DOHC, it makes a difference, and I think more than enough to spank that camry. But WAYYYYYY too much work.

I did the MPI conversion on my car. IMO, its not worth it. Yes, I do have a bit more power, but you'd have to get an AFPR and EGT or wideband O2 to tune it right. The power gains are not worth the loss of driveability.

Look at this thread:
How to get 150 hp without NOS or turbo ?

You can make 150HP much easier, just read up there.

I think if i can get some money I'll try both. I'll find a T2 engine to put in my Daytona, get a neon head on my TBI and put it in a dodge shadow body. I saw plenty of those at the junkyard

If ya cant find a T2 motor, good luck finding stuff WAY more rare like a T3 or TC head.

+1 with the other guys wait for a t2, or cheap later model T1 to upgrade

I've found that finding a head's a lot easier than finding an entire motor. I've seen a lot of for sale ads including heads.
