Alright well i managed to pickup a low miles 1989 daytona shelby for a decent price and i have some plans to get her into the real power (not that its slow right now!)

It was in a little rough shape when i got her, just general maintenence things, as well as it had been sitting parked since 93!! this consisted mostly of, plugs, wires, a couple harness fixes, oil, filter, vac line redo (still need to do it again and get a new 4 way splitter that stock plastic one SUCKS!)

Anyways the car has been returned almost completly to stock, with the exception of a couple more things i need to track down and fix (all minor should be done in a week or so)

I would like to take this car to the 350WHP range, the following is my plan.

Get a spare motor+trans+turbo.

Rebuild the bottom of the motor (though these motors are already built like tanks) port+polish the head, intake, exhaust manifolds all to match and as far as i can. Install the larger 52mm throttle body. Keep the exhaust side of the turbo the same (though i have been reading they benefit from a larger housing? (i dont know alot about turbos honestly) if they do is this something i can do or would i need to take it in to be done? also get a larger compressor side put on the turbo, maybe a new impeller as well that will flow me into the 350HP range, though i would like to keep the already fast spoolup time (hence keeping the stock exhaust side housing/impeller)

Install the biggest FMIC i can find run 3" mandrel bent stainless for all the intake, upgrade to a 3" swingvalve and run full 3" stainless mandrel exhaust, to a high flow muffler, as well as at the bottom of the down pipe i plan on coming up with some kind of actuated valve that i can open with a switch or have it open at WOT to dump the exhaust tot he ground bypassing the muffler. Also a 3 Bar Map +40's and i would estimate about 20-23PSI of boost. I dont need a computer i can take care of all that, as well as all the mix tuning for the more flow.

This is what i have come up with, just curiouse what you all think, and what some of your courses of action would be.

I will also be running 2 cals, one for the street (probobly 8PSI) and one for the track (max, 20-23)

Goal is to have a daily driver that will be a mean ride in the 350Hp range.

check out the vendor section for some hot go fast goodies.

also, thedodgegarage.com is an awesome and very helpful site on how to get your td up there.

as for all that turbo mumbo jumbo, if you are gonna go through all that work you might as well order a custom turbo from a vendor!
