Im just running 12 degrees, I think thats what the stage 5 is set up for.

Have had it up to 14 but it was getting a lil bit of knock so turned it back just to make myself feel better about it even though im still showing slight knock (worst near #1 according to the scanner) even with 100 octane no lead, so it may just be mechanical noise being picked up.

premium is like 4.25 out here there just plain bending us over, boy did I pick a good time to buy a motorhome

at least you are still in the $4 range for gas.....here in Ontario (sold by the litre) reg (87 octane)gas is $1.25...that translates to $5 a gallon US. OUCH! it's getting to the point when one has to start thinking about fuel economy more than HP,very depressing

Drove the old '86 Turbo Z from Eastern PA, just above Philly to Gettysburg and then to Mason-Dixon in Boonsboro Maryland and back and got 25 mpg out of my 3 speed dogmatic T-1, tach at about 3400 rpm at an average speed of 70 mph on 93octane. Drove about 250 miles or so one way. Spent $3.99 a gallon for 93.

I use this as my daily driver and generally just fill it with 89. Engine just turned 154,000 during the trip home. Can see a pic of it under the Mason-Dixon post under events its the gun metal blue one, not the Barbie pink

Yah, I was getting over 30 in my Rampage before it blew the engine, granted, the thing could run on 0 if I put a bed sheet on it since the thing is so light. LOL, but my Avenger that is my DD only gets around 22 mpg and it is pretty sad when I am looking at getting a bike, just because gas is getting so bad.

The 2.5 T1 in my Spirit was getting about 26 mpg with an N/A automatic with 205-60-15's. That same engine in my Daytona was averaging about 21-22 mpg with turbo automatic and 205-55-16's. Lots of factors to consider there on the difference. But after a slight tune-up and a new (used) fuel pump it's now getting about 23-24 average.

My Daytona ES that I converted from TBI to 2.5 T1 averaged about 28 mpg with an automatic! I almost wish I hadn't sold that car now. 15" tires and again N/A auto but with the 3.02 gearing.

My father had an 89 LeBaron 2.5 T1 with 5-speed about 8 years ago. On a road trip to Maryland he got 42 mpg up and back! That was mostly highway and keeping out of the boost, but still that was damned impressive. He wishes he still had that car.

We're just now cresting the $4 mark around Richmond. I have a 5-speed Daytona waiting for a ball joint and an inspection. Guess I need to get on that so I can reap the rewards of the better fuel economy.

I have modified my Daytona's 782 head. Amoung other things, the C/R (8.6) is higher, which is more efficient. I can also run 87 with it, though only boosting to 12 psi so far. If I could keep my foot out of it, I am sure I would see a mileage increase...
Also dumping the 3.85 555 for a completely cryoed 523 3.50fd with 3.77 gears.

I too have a few friends doing the hydrogen boosters. They are doing very well. For them the key is all in the tune.

Its getting to the point where buying a bike actually does pay for itself. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking it saves money to get a bike but they dont count in the insurance and maintenance (Oil, chains, sprockets, Tires)

But gas prices are almost to the point where it does pay off having a bike. A 250 ninja which was finally redesigned after about 15 years is only $3000 brand new out the door.

Just saw a report the other day that the toyota prius plant is running at over full capacity and that theres now a waiting list for the once unsold prius. The world is a changin

I can't imagine why. Besides being ugly as sin, it doesn't get much better fuel economy than your average diesel VW. It's worse than the European diesels. And the costs are ridiculous for a car that goes 0-60 in the time it takes our stock cars to run the 1/4 mile.

Speaking of bikes, I guess I need to get mine out of storage. Definately be a gas saver. And in 10th gear I can probably pedal it to 25 mph.

Damn, I can't wait to get my car. even 20 mpg would be a huge increase for me. The old 74 gets about 12 mpg if I keep my foot off it. And the 3000 GT if I stay out of boost gets low 20's. The old Ford weighs in at 4200 and the 3kgt weighs in at 3800 pounds. So the little CSX-T should get way better gas mileage. Plus the dodge looks good too

60mpg is the most i know of any cars sold in the us. They start at $21,000 which is reasonable.
