I know it seems weird to be asking, but whats the normal mpg I should be getting with my 85 Turbo convertible 600? Im thinking some more power would help without getting to powerful but with gas in Atlanta already at $3.75 Im trying to keep my foot out of the turbo charger

Overnight here in chicago, it went up to $4.47 for 93 octane. game over people. I'm trying to convert my car to run on hydrogen, lets hope that turns out well.

Gas here is $ closing in on $4. for 91.
my 2.4 gets 24-25 with little or no boost and goes down depending on how much p.s.i. [now thats only driving 4 miles a day]
my 87 shelby Z got about 20-21 in town.

I paid $4.05/gal the other day for 93 in Daytona Beach. There are still a few places that it's lower than $4/gal in Jax, but most are the cheepy places I refuse to go to for fear of bad gas.
As an interesting note my '88 Shelby Z got right at 28mpg on that particular tank of fuel! Of course there was hardly ANY boost and a bit of highway driving, so I'm sure that helped. The car is far from stock..using FWD S5 cal w/supporting hardware as a tune. I beleive I can eek out a bit more..gotta turn the fuel pressure down some more...under WOT boost conditions the WB is still reading 10.3, so I've got some room to play...

You will gain more by turning down the fpr, I have the same set up but with an s-60 turbo/2.5 ltr and its running about 40 psi base pressure and when its 70 degrees out the afr is about 10.8 but when it drops down to 45 at night the afr is about 11.3.
On a few trips down to ohio ive made 40 mpg with the fuel pressure set at 36 psi and 18 psi boost settting and still 11.5 afr and I wasnt even trying to get good milage and this is running the tank down to empty untill the car ran out of gas so I know for sure im not crazy, the car gets somwhere around the 30's just toolin around town.
This motor only has 110 -115 psi compression to top it all off so who knows what its actually capable of since I forgot to tighten the nut on the fpr adjustment and the fpr dropped down to 15 psi and did some mangling on my piston rings while I was making a run through first and second gear and before I hurt it, it was at 125-130 compression so im sure its not running as well as it should be

Jim34, what base ignition timing are you running on that 2.5 s60?

I found that hotter plugs, bigger plug gaps, advanced timing, lower weight oil, in addition to the other maintenance, brought my '89 2.2 TBI Horizon from low 20's to mid/high 30's. It also gave better low end, and felt much stronger. I never had the chance to play with the fuel, I know it was running rich. With a turbo engine these mods will likely lead to detonation if pushed hard. You may need to turn down the boost... I hate doing that!
