Using the EGT readings to fine tune the fueling isn't that hard or imprecise. If the A/F readings show rich you can lower the FP in small increments while observing EGT readings. If the EGT's drop continue to lower the FP slightly. When the EGT's begin to rise stop lowering FP and put back some fuel for a safety net. That A/F ratio should be ideal for the engine. Ideal for your engine based on how much air it moves ... flow. An engines power potential revolves around air flow.

Discounting wide ambient temp ranges you shouldn't need to adjust FP again. Changes in readings (A/F and EGT) now will indicate problems. Dumping fuel into an engine to control higher EGT's because of excessive timing retard isn't going to help performance. You can move timing a few degrees searching for that sweet spot but stay in the ideal A/F ratio zone.

If you figure out how to get more air into the engine you need to adjust FP once again to get back to your ideal readings (EGT and WB).

No thats actually a 2.5 with a G head. But, I've been doing my own calibrations for awhile now, and have cal's for the 2.5 and 2.2 G head that keep EGT's pretty much under control. You need to add tons of timing advance to keep EGT's in check with a G head.
