Ive got an '89 2.5 and matching auto sitting in my garage. engine will be going into '89 tbi horizon.

My plan as of now is to dingle ball hone, rings, mains, rods, reman oil pump, mahles if it needs them. want to put in a 255 while im in there, unsure about the need to rerun all fuel lines?

I got the mitsu whith the engine and trans, its in really good shape has zero shaft play.

this is my first td, my current goal is to make it a dead reliable dd for now, and build it into an autocrosser and respectable drag car once I get a more fuel efficient dd.

to keep the mpg up, and have the expandability to go 300-350 whp in the future, how should I build it for now? My thoughts would be to do some light porting/gasket matching, 3 angle and backcut valves, +20's, intercooler, tII garrett, 2.5 swing and 3" from there.

should I keep the 782 or go G?
should I weld a flange onto my tbi header and port it?

I will be socketing and burning my own cal.

the drivetrain is out of an 89 daytona, should I put the intermediate gear out of my tbi trans in for a higher ratios? I'm guessing that with all the torque of the 2.5 and the lightweight horizon I can get away with running some really tall gears.

You should talk to MPGMIKE to get him to do a head for you.
