After doing the HG on my NA Shadow, a friend on allpar sent me a MP HG for a spare. When I got it, it was the 2006. IIRC, the commonblock motors were cross-drilled, but would like some clarification on this(years, motors, ect). I do have a set of gasket hole punches(goes to 1.5" holes), so could I "match punch" the gasket to 2005 specs? I read the coolant passages and the crossdrill holes are the only differences, and I have gasket fab experience. The gasket was a freebie, but I don't want to mess up a perfectly good gasket if I don't need to.

So, now my next question. Weren't all the '89-up commonblock motors cross-drilled? Haven't been out to look at my spare block yet, but was wondering. I know my spare head is cross-drilled, and the head on my 2.2L Shadow NA is crossdrilled, but don't know about the blocks.
