Not exactly. The Turbo GTC sometimes (always?) had an intercooled 2.2 Turbo II with a 5-speed A555.. where-as the turbo lebaron would have a standard non-intercooled T1 2.5 with an automatic tranny. I happen to have owned one of them, and what a nice/fast car it was. Beside drivetrain, the GTC usually had nice lightweight lace wheels, large brakes, slightly firmer suspension, blacked out window trim/emblems, and body-colored grille and door trim.

The turbo GTC could be ordered TI or TII, just like not all Daytona Shelbys were TII. The GTC package usually just meant it had more options. The crome accents were blacked out or body colored. The GTC could be optioned with the TII drivetrain, but I don't think the regular turbo cars or turbo GT cars could be. That's unsubstantiated though.

I'm pretty sure 1990 was the only year you could get an intercooled turbo II in the LeBaron!!

Thanks,
Chris

The t2 GTC baron was 89 only (non vnt)
The 89 package you could either have a t1 auto non intercooled (mitsu)but it still came with the trunk luggage rack, body colored moldings, 16" lace wheels, 11" brakes, boost gauge and were usually fully loaded modles. I would know since I am looking at one in the drive way right now
The t2 had the t2 fully forged common block motor, hooked up to an a555 5 speed and a factory intercooler.
I am going to get me one of those someday once I sell the stupid t1 auto baron
The other years 90+ the gtc was the top of the line modle and you could get a turbo car or a v6 car that year upto 92 I believe.

I owned a t1 auto 2.2 mitsu non intercooled convertible. It had nice lace wheels- 15s and ac, power seat, suspension was sporty. I am sure the gtcs got stiffer springs and better brakes as well.
I now have a 92 gtc 2.5 mitsu 5spd-a568 large spline, 16in lace wheels, abs. A good friend just picked up a 89 non-gtc w/ a5spd 555? non intercooled.

I recall saying that **Turbo GTC's** were usually T2. Therefor, the later body style v6 N/A GTC's you mention aren't relavent. Furthermore, none of your GTC's are TII's like mine. There it is. I can piss further.
I was not aware the **Turbo GTC's** came available with a T1. Interesting info. Should cut down on my excitement when I see one on the freeway.

She's a t1 automatic. The only recognizing badging on that car. No other badges such as lebaron, or gtc on the trunk and the only way you would know it was a lebaron (if you weren't familiar with the car) is that it has a lebaron badge on the dash.
