i guess those kids didnt think to buy a can of gold spray paint and a paper bag. oh wait, nevermind - couldnt be very bright if they were huffin to begin with.
as i seem to recall the evap also releases pressure from the fuel tank so the pump can suck the fuel out without trying to work against a vacuum. but after the car warms up the fuel also warms up, expands and eliminates the vacuum effect. am i correct? would explain the stumble at idle.
i seem to recall egr lowers combustion chamber temps because the exhaust gas slows down combustion , eliminating hot spots. high combustion temps cause NOx gases to form. EGR has a 2 fold benefit- lowers combustion temps saving valves rings head gaskets castings etc, and prevents NOx gasses from forming which is the the exhaust pipes worst emission. im pretty sure thats how it goes, been a while since i was in school.
EGR does have a negative effect for all out high perfromance- id rather just leave room for more air and fuel if i wanted to make a car go fast
my 88TI doesnt have an EGR system -48 state or federal car. unless its hidden somewhere where i cant see it.
you can always knock the catalyst out of the cat, and melt the platinum off of the ceramic, collect it, and go get your fronts done.
