I recently purchased a 1985 chrys laser turbo. Unknown to myself and the previous owner who only had the car for a month and never drove it. the turbo was non-working. on to the problem. Well i got it E-checked when the turbo was non functioning (with a bad knock sensor on top of it) and it fail the NOX portion. i fixed the turbo (wastegate rod broken) and the knock sensor. but to my surprise the NOX went up.

Please i need sum help this is my first turbo car and I dont wanna mess it up.

Suggestions???

Stage 0 done? *tune up stuff, spark timing, cam timing, oil change, etc...*

Scan the paper with the emission numbers and post it.

Yes, post #'s... but i will say NOx and combustion temps go hand in hand. Was this an idle test , loaded test, or IM240 test? Failing NOx at cruise - I'd check the EGR valve to make sure its moving freely (mityvac). There are a lot of hoses down there that get old and break, Be sure to check those. As a matter of fact, check all your vac lines. They used hard plastic harness that gets brittle and broken from age.

And like tryingbe said, plugs, wires, oil, filter, air filter, etc.... good start on any car

"I'd check the EGR valve"

+1 on that. EGR controls NOx. Verify the vacuum lines running to it and it's not clogged up.
