Removing crankshaft gear

Hey everyone i am tearing down my engine and have gotten into a sticky spot, i am trying to get the main bearing caps off and i cant get to one set of them because i believe its called the front seal, is in the way of the bolts, there is a gear attached to the crankshaft which the crank pulley was bolted to that is in my way, i am wondering how one goes about taking of this gear

What you can do is as follows: (it worked for me when I did it last)

Find a small bolt that you can place into the bolt hole in the center of the crank, then take a nut that will fit onto the stock bolt and get a washer that the bolt/nut go through and is wide enough to fit just outside of the hole in the pulley. Then go and place 2 or 3 of the bolts to the pulley back on (or once that will be long enough to reach from the pulley to the gear. Then using a wrench to hold the nut on the bolt and and use a ratchet to turn the bolt and use it as a wheel puller. Cheapest/easiest way to do it without losing a pulley from welding a nut to it (another way to go about it) But either way works.
