Pulled the head off my 2.5 T1 van last night and was trying to figure out if the headbolts have ever been replaced or not. They have a C with a h inside it, on the head. Anyone know what I'm dealing with?

Just buy a new set. They're about $20.

They are torque to yield. You should replace them every time you remove the head. Maybe consider head studs.

I purchased the Mopar performance head bolt kit. It is stronger than the OEM and it even costs less.

Are you trying to figure out if the motor has ever been apart?

Aren't the MP bolts like $50. And they can only be used 2-3 times. At that price you may as well get the ARP studs which can be used over and over.

Yeah I was trying to figure out if the last owner, his middle name should be cheapskate, replaced them. About half of the gaskets on the van I found were silicone and leaking. I picked up my new headbolts last night and they have the same stamping, so I answered my own question. MP ones would have cost me $44, but with a week wait and I don't have the time. Thanks for the help

The dealer's doubled the price of the mopar bolts. Supply and demand I guess.

You don't have the replace the mopar bolts everytime, I've used them up to 4 times already and have never blown a gasket, although I don't recommend using them more than 3 times. Use the mopar 2005 headgasket as well. When I put my head back on this time I will have used my current bolts 3 times. If I ever take the head off again, I'll be picking up a set of ARP studs.
