2.5 and balance shafts

Im curently looking for a TD and i hade a question for 2.5's. I have heard of people removing the balance shafts with almost no change and others regreating the removal. My question is if you remove the balance shafts and have the engine balance will it remove the shake, or is it even worth my money to have it balanced, and there really isn't any shake. Im just trying to keep my options open plus i don't want more rotational weight on the motor than it needs.

I didn't bother balancing mine and I wish I still had the shafts.

I think it depends on the engine. I removed mine and I do not see a difference with the vibration. Others seem to have a vibration they do not like. It seems to be like most things touched by human hands, two are never really made the same. I love not having mine in my 2.5L TII set up.

From what I understand, the balance shafts deal mainly with the second order vibrations which have to do with things like firing order etc etc. Balancing the moving assemblies in the vehicle will not take away any of the vibration the balance shafts hide.

Personally I didn't notice the vibration difference with them out. Its probably does vibrate a hair more but definitely not enough to bother unless you are extremely critical of that.

The only differances I noticed after removing the ballancer shaft assembly was, the engine spins a bit quicker and my inside rear view mirror vibrates a bit, making the view to the rear a bit fuzzy at city speeds. My car is a 5 speed GTS LeBaron.
