I've been torturing myself over which path to go: 2.5 with a 16v hybrid head or a complete 2.4 swap . It would be going into a '90 Turismo (Plymouth version of Charger) that currently has a 2.2 non turbo automatic. I've had a 2.5 turbo out of a LeBaron scattered in parts for a while now. If I was to build to the 2.5, I would use the Mikuni setup I have. I also have shorter gears for the transmission already. It would be primarily used as a bracket car. Which would be more cost effective? Which would be easier? Please help!

I'm going with a 2.4L swap so I can still have A/C and find parts for it easier. Not to mention its easier and less expensive.

From someone that's done both, you'll be happier in the end with the 2.4. You pretty much only need to fabricate one mount. Since you're NA, you can just use a bolt for the passenger's side mount with a PT or SRT engine mount. You can then either make a front mount or adapt the newer torque bar on the bottom to the K-frame.

I would rather fab a motor mount than all the other plugging and modifying to the block to get a hybrid running. Also, having a newer motor seems the way to go.

The 2.4 motor is just nicer designed, easier to work on, parts are readily available(and will be for years to come). If something breaks, you dont have to redo all the custom plumbing, just get a motor and swap

2.4 Is much easier to do not sure about it being a better engine though

They never made a 90 Turismo... The Charger and Turismo 2 dr cars stopped production@Belveder assembly in 87.. The Omni and Horizon 4 dr versions went until 1990 and they were TBI...

Ohh man, I must've been thinking of the Mustang. Oops... Yeah, it's an '87. A big thank you to all that commented back re-assuring my thoughts. I'm probably going to pick up an Srt-4 motor with the stock electronics. Wish me luck!
